Care begins with your goals. Here’s what to expect from your visit and how to prepare.
Your visit
Your goals guide the evaluation, whether pain is interrupting sleep, limiting work or making activity harder.
Your hour with Dr. Coon includes:
- Time to explain your symptoms, previous treatment and goals
- A focused physical examination, with diagnostic ultrasound when it can clarify the diagnosis
- A discussion of your therapeutic options and a plan for the next step
After the visit, you’ll receive a brief summary of the findings and plan in your secure patient portal, to keep or share with your physical therapist.
Will treatment happen during the first visit?
Your first visit is an evaluation. If a procedure is recommended, you’ll discuss its purpose, benefits, risks, alternatives and cost before deciding. Procedures are scheduled separately.
What to prepare
Think about your main concern, previous care and one activity you would most like help with. Complete your assigned intake and share relevant records through the secure portal before your visit.

NOVA Regen is an independent practice. Scheduling, records, payments and clinical questions belong with NOVA.
Cost and payment
Your evaluation costs $400, including diagnostic ultrasound when clinically indicated. Procedure fees are separate and explained before scheduling.
NOVA Regen is a self-pay practice and does not bill insurance. Itemized superbills are available on request; reimbursement depends on your insurer.
Payment is due before or at the time of your visit or procedure.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Contact NOVA as early as possible if you need to change your appointment. If you have already paid, let us know so payment can be addressed with the change.

Focus and visit length
Your appointment is reserved for an hour.
We generally begin with one main concern or region. When symptoms involve several areas, the evaluation can expand to understand how they fit together.
Age and referral
The standard service is for adults 18 and older. Focused high-school athletic injuries in patients ages 16 to 17 may be considered case by case with a parent or legal guardian.
No referral is required.
Privacy
Use the secure patient portal for your history, records and clinical messages. Ordinary email and the host office are not channels for medical information. Read website privacy information.
No urgent or emergency care
NOVA Regen does not provide urgent or emergency care. If you think you are having an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. If you have a concern that needs attention today but is not an emergency, contact your primary care clinician or an urgent care clinic.
